Once upon a time, there was a chain called Paperback Booksmith, with stores all over New England. They got too big and got into financial trouble, eventually shrinking down to just Cambridge Booksmith and Brookline Booksmith.

The Cambridge store closed about a decade ago, but more recently they opened a new branch, Wellesley Booksmith, at a former Lauriat's location.

Maybe it's time for Booksmith to return to Cambridge by buying Harvard Book Store? This would keep it in local, and well-respected, hands.
