Chinatown's hole in the ground

Will Ng reports the hole in the ground at Washington and LaGrange that was supposed to become a 26-story building is still a hole in the ground, but now it's filled with white gravel instead of just dirt.

It's a small World! There's

It's a small World! There's also a Washington and Lagrange in my neighborhood. For a moment I wondered why I had never seen a large hole in the ground there, much less why anyone would put a 26 story building on that corner.

That's because there's already a tower there

Link doesn't work

because there is no such server as "boston-online.com" .

Works now, at least for me

Sometimes the server just goes down and then just comes back up.

Will there be a detail cop shortage?

With a huge hole in the ground, how can they not be drawn to this site, redolent with the scent of potential mega overtime?

Could it be a trap?

I don't see no stinkin'

I don't see no stinkin' ducks.

LOL @ SG

Bad news

That's very bad news.

It seems to be in preparation for a parking lot to open on the site.

Meaning, more delays in building anything new.

You might blame the economy, but also blame the developer ... and City Hall (BRA) which gave approval to tear down the Gaiety Theater.

Mr Newman, care to comment?
