Getting hither and yon

The cost of Boston parking tickets is going up.

T to shut Red Line two weekends this month for a little maintenance so trains don't start plunging off the Longfellow Bridge.

Nice people do work for the T.

Ah-hah!

So we crept across the Longfellow Bridge yesterday.
(Note to lurking Boston Globe reporters: that's also called
the Salt and Pepper Bridge. It runs between Boston
and Cambridge.)

And then ran flat out at bone-rattling, wheel-screeching
speed between Kendall and Central. I'm talking NASCAR
here, without the turns. Presumably to make up for
the Longfellow Creep.

What's the over-under on how long it takes until the
real accident happens on either side of the bridge,
where train operators are racing like hell to make up
lost time going over the bridge?
