Another Boston murder case you probably won't be reading about

It's just some convicted killer accused of two murders in Jamaica Plain, after all, not an exciting killer hubby in the suburbs.

A trial could start today in Suffolk Superior Court in the case of Terry Gray. Gray is charged with shooting to death his aunt's boyfriend, Charles Wilson, 65, in July, 2005, and then, three days later, killling his own stepfather, James Gray, 61, by shooting him in the head. He allegedly threatened both men's lives a month earlier, when he put a gun to another relative's head but didn't pull the trigger.

Gray had previously served 10 years for stabbing a teenager to death.

More on the case.

If you're trying to make a

If you're trying to make a point that the news media isn't covering this case in lieu of more flashy suburban cases, how come you were able to link to an article about it in a suburban newspaper, of all places? Granted, the article is 3 years old, but my guess is that there will be coverage once the trial is actually underway. If this case had some of the other sensationalist aspects to it like the Entwistle case did, I would think that it would get covered even if it was in JP rather than Hopkinton.

I wish I were that optimistic

However, I'm betting coverage of this case will be minimal, if there's any at all, in part because you've now got two made-for-TV cases going on in Woburn (Entwistle and the alleged antifreeze-in-the-Gatorade killer) and today's newspapers seem unable to allocate resources to cover non-marital murders (even if in the city they have in their names) at the same time.

And, yeah, three-year-old stories don't exactly inspire much hope that I'm wrong.
