Hare-raising

Coming home from downtown tonight, we saw a rabbit dart across the Jamaicaway (Arborway? Centre Street?) by the Poor Clare Nuns. The thing is, it had the light! Who knew they knew how to press the pedestrian-crossing button?

...the city installed little pedestrian buttons three inches off the sidewalk?

I didn't know that rabbits could push the crosswalk buttons, but I've noticed there's a gaggle of geese in the Fenway area who seem to use the crosswalks properly (albeit slowly).

That would be fun - watch the Geese aggressively keep the ipod-addled masses at bay until the light changed, and then herd them into the crosswalk like so many giant gosslings.

(+1 for appropriate use of the term "gaggle" in describing said geese)

Yep, those geese are pretty funny. But part of why it ends up being slow is because sometimes most of the gaggle will be waddling in the general direction of "across the street," but one lone goose decides to stop in the middle of the street, point itself at the cars, and let out a bigass honk.

I think it might be similar to the game played on elementary school field trips where one makes truck-horn gestures at truckers to see if any of them will honk.

Haha best comment by far. Good laugh on a dreary Monday morning.
