incredibly stupid
Well, that's just incredibly stupid. Where's the big "Under Construction" sign? :-)
I'm thinking maybe there was some badness with the web people (like they angrily deleted or altered the content and those left cannot yet figure out how to bring it back) that brought this on. Otherwise there's just no reason I can think of to change the content at all. Though, interestingly, Hood's own website seems to have nothing about the Brigham's sale, so maybe I am giving them too much credit.
Stupid on the part of hood? Or of the former Brighams folks?
Bad faith all around. After all, it's not like they were bought by Garelick or Bain or anything.
Bad faith
or bad business? Bad faith means malicious motive.
Why would they intentionally harm their own interests and how could that be malicious as opposed to just stupid?
both?
Stupid if they actually have the content in hand but have decided to replace it with this message. Because that website is doubtless getting a lot of hits these days, and all that message is doing is damage to the brand.
Stupid if they fired Brigham's web staff and didn't manage to properly protect the existing web content from malicious/upset former employees, or don't have an easy way to recover it if necessary.
