I'm not saying it's a totally bad thing to do, but it's not the main reason for going to such an event. Also, it looks like a number of the protesters are dressed in Revolutionary-era garb, which is appropriate given that it's July 4th.
The protest was lonelier than those photos might imply. You can see those protesters as the motorcade passed, in the photo linked from this blog entry:
Actually, my forefathers were rugged assholes who kicked the empire out of here. The empire is back, like a thief in the night, and is waging and indefinite "war on terror" -- which actually a war against Islam and the civil liberties of innocent Americans. My forefathers did not grovel ... they protested with radical demonstration, like the Boston Tea Party ... and when that didn't work they just killed the mothafuckas with bayonets, gunpowder and grit.
I'm guessing here, but I'm willing to wager that >80% of your forefathers came to this country post-revolution... unless your part of some inbreeding clan that lives under the rocks in Dogtown Commons....

It's not like Cheney was greeted by an equal amount of supporters -- just a bunch of immigrants who are groveling for citizenship.

Your forefathers were rugged assholes and groveling terrorists. They stole in the woods and fought like hajji, hiding among the innocent civilians.

what time was Cheney there?
By sheenaspleena - 7/6/08 - 12:46 pm
The newspaper, etc was pretty vague & I didn't know what time he was showing up. There would have been lots more if the agenda was published.
