Mattapan Line finally gets air conditioning - today
By adamg - Wed, 07/09/2008 - 10:29am.
This just in from the T: The first ever air-conditioned Mattapan trolley rolls out of Ashmont station at 2 p.m. today. The other nine trolleys on the cutest transit line in all of Massachusetts will be retro-fitted with A/C by the end of the summer.

Since nobody else tried to
Since nobody else tried to add a pun to Soldog's initial attempt, I will.
So, now the Mattapan line is a true carrier of mass-transit?
(See, Carrier invented air conditioning, and... Oh, hell.)
Soldog?
SOLdog? I know there's a joke in here somewhere about mad dogs in the noonday sun, but I'm just too frosted by your misspelling to come up with it. Instead, I shall give you...

Sweet!
Just in time for WINTER!
The MBTA at its finest.
PS:I just came through the Longwood and Brookline Village stops. Tons of construction vehicles (even a pickup truck or two), and not a single worker in sight. Extremely strange.
When did they start work on that? I remember as far back as at least Thanksgiving they seemed to be at least half-way done...
Winter? Mid July? Are you
Winter? Mid July? Are you dense?
End of summer, anyway
The post said the air conditioning would be on all cars by the end of summer. That's not winter, but there isn't a lot of need for air conditioning after September 21.
Well, they ALMOST got it right
According to Boston.com, the A/C broke down even before anyone could board the car.
Hot topic, I see
The officials said the AC had been tested repeatedly and just picked today to fail.
