Is the Newton one the one right at the T station? I really like that space.

Can't say I'm at all surprised by the Burlington store closing - there were always very few people in there, and it always felt kind of awkward.

Yes the store closing is the one closer to the T in Newton Centre.

You can wait inside during the winder and they have the "approaching train" sign.

The other one has awful parking.

No wonder they're losing money!

was one of the original "Coffee Connections" way before anyone even knew what a Starbucks was. That's kinda sad in that its one of those locations where there has always been a coffee business as opposed to one of the newer ones built in a strip mall.

This is a sign of the times and that people clearly can't afford to spend 4 dollars on a coffee drink anymore. It will get worse before it gets better. I think we will be seeing many more of these stores close.

Heck, they can't even afford $0.75 for a newspaper. I see people taking newspapers at Starbucks and not paying for them all the time now.

Either that or they're just thieves.

I hope that space doesn't sit vacant. It's so beautiful inside. But, I have to admit that one's never had very good service. I haven't been there in a while, but I recall it always used to be a little bit dirty / trash not emptied often and the drinks were a little spotty / not quite to recipe. The Petes in that area had much better drinks. So maybe a local owner will open a coffee shop in the train station and run it better.
