Skunked
David Prior reports what happens when one of your dogs gets loose and decides to go after a skunk, which does what skunks do, after which the dog runs right into the house. You know it's pretty bad when National Grid shows up because the downstairs neighbor called to report what he thought was a gas leak.

skunk off is the only solution
We tried every product and homebrew remedy out there, because our dog got skunked repeatedly. Skunk Off by Thornell was the only one that worked, and it worked great. Safe to handle, safe for the dog, and completely effective.
Tomato juice is equivalent to doing the macarena in effectiveness against the skunk odors -- you get desensitized a bit over time, so anything will seem to you like it's working. It's what new people walking in think that matters.

We had a very curious dog that not only enjoyed getting close to skunks, but also enjoyed two trips to the vet because he dediced to investigate a porcupine -- twice. Novacaine and pliers were the vet's tools of choose to get all those quills out of his nose and mouth.
