Saw this on Google News this morning, can't believe it took you this long to post it :-)

Are you kidding me?

Why are we living in fear-ville?

Perhaps this teen saw someone on the beach wearing a Lacoste alligator shirt? Or maybe a U-Florida student enjoying the water?

gator in Jamaica Pond

There actually was an alligator in Jamaica Pond a few years back. Police first assumed it was a crank call, or somebody saw a log floating in the pond and got freaked out. But they figured they had to at least check it out. Sure enough, they found a 2 foot alligator swimming in the pond. They figure some idiot brought it up here as a pet, then dumped it when it got too big.

At 2 feet, I'm not sure how much of a danger it was to anyone. But it never would have survived the winter up here.

Great headline...
