Oh very young
What will you leave us this time
You're only dancing on this earth for a short while
And though your dreams may toss and turn you now
They will vanish away like your daddys best jeans
Denim Blue fading up to the sky
And though you want him to last forever
You know he never will (You know he never will )
And the patches make the goodbye harder still
Sad Car has a cousin in JP.
(I think there's a camper in the very overgrown part of the yard near the brown car. I'm making that judgment based on shape, as it's too much of a jungle for me to see clearly.)
That car has been there at least since I started driving in about 1992. In fact, I have vague memories of it being there earlier, too. I used to go to Children's Hospital a few times a year from the south 'burbs and I remember mentally noting it as early as 1989.
Can anyone really be sure the car was removed and that it didn't just dissolve into dust strewn among the leaves?
If I still lived in Boston, I'd go up and knock on the door and ask.
I just drove by there this past Saturday and noticed the car (Thunderbird) was gone. There are signs of the car being removed from the driveway in the form of two large scrape marks/tracks through all the leaves and rust debris that had collected around the car on the driveway. Though I didn't grab a photo of the evidence, it's probably all still there to see.
...moldering cars desperately enough, we have neighbors who have two of them in their back yard. (One was already massively derelict when we moved in -- over 10 years ago; the other is new -- only permanently left to deteriorate 7 or so years ago),
I live right around the corner from where SAD CAR was. This charmer has been in the same spot for as long as I can remember (I have lived her for about 10 years).
Is this a worthy replacement for Sad Car (Sad Van)??

Long May You Run
Geesh, this is Boston - couldn't someone have declared it an historic landmark?

Re: R.I.P
Truly the end of an era. A moment of silence, please, in memory of the saddest decomposed car in Boston.
But what will replace it?
Luxury condos?
We gotta protect the
We gotta protect the character of the neighborhood!
rusty car in the front yard = start of a Jeff Foxworthy joke?

it has a name
I've long (like 6 or 7 years) wondered what kind of car it started out as.
The Rapture
I actually witnessed this, and almost drove into a tree on the VFW in the process. It was hauled away in pieces on a flatbed wrecker.
when?
when?
If anyone needs to see ....
