Having a character or place in an upcoming play named after you is one of the unusual items being auctioned off at a benefit on Aug. 3.

The Amory Street Fire Benefit will help residents of the Cambridge Street burned out of their homes in a fire this past May:

The fire caused extreme damages to the three-decker at 110/112 Amory St., and lesser though still serious damages to another three decker at 108 Amory and a single family home at 106. The victims of 110/112 Amory St. are still struggling to make ends meet, recoup their losses, and deal with the lack of adequate insurance coverage - They are the recipients of our August 3rd benefit.

In addition to the auction, the event at the Greek Hellenic Center in Watertown will feature the 18-piece Beantown Swing Orchestra, dinner and dancing. Tickets are $20.
