Beacon Street as empowerment zone for tween girls

Beacon Street Girls (although who knew there was an apartment atop that movie theater on Harvard Street?).

The company behind the site (and the books from which it comes) says it is aimed at "quality parent-approved literature, media, and gifts for preteen girls who are between toys and boys TM."

According to the about page on Brunonia Barry's blog (she's the author of the soon-to-be-ubiquitous Lace Reader book set in Salem), she's written books for this series.
