What would an election be without a story involving Dianne Wilkerson and financial improprieties?

Herald: Sen. Dianne Wilkerson reaches $10,000 settlement with AG:

... As part of the settlement, Coakley said Wilkerson acknowledged violations of campaign finance laws by failing to keep proper records from 2000 to 2004. ...

Sen. Wilkerson unable to account for money? Gosh.

So what's the current tally?

By Brett | Fri, 08/01/2008 - 11:25am

-Didn't pay her mortgage
-Didn't pay her condo association fees
-Didn't pay her taxes
-Lied about her campaign contributions

I also recall something about her being investigated for perjury in a relative's trial.

...anything else? Why DO people elect such a scumbag? Because she's sticking it to The Man?

Then again, we've got city councillors throwing temper tantrums (and curling irons), and state reps sexually assaulting women...

Hey!

By adamg | Fri, 08/01/2008 - 11:37am

Don't make people think Boston officials were throwing curling irons (she's from Watertown, that one) or trying to feel up women in Lowell (he's a state senator from Arlington).

Couple reasons

By JimboJones | Fri, 08/01/2008 - 12:23pm

THere are at least two reasons some people support Rep. Wilkerson.

* supported Columbus Center

* supported gay rights bill & repeal of 1913 law

People see what they want to see.

Well the question is does

By ShadyMilkMan | Fri, 08/01/2008 - 12:35pm

Well the question is does she deliver for her district. Even though I think she is a bit of a joke I dont know how her voting record pans out in relation to her voters. She could be an ok state rep and be a moron in finances.

Does She Deliver?

By rossoduck | Fri, 08/01/2008 - 1:34pm

I have not seen Sen. Wilkerson present for any of the key discussions on issues important to my neighborhood of Beacon Hill. Given that early next year the State is going to start discussing massive renovations to the Storrow Drive tunnel, I am concerned that silence from my State Senator will have an impact.

One of the reasons I am supporting her opponent. Her personal problems aside (I am willing to forgive her), it's time for a change.

Here is the Senator

Here is the Senator herself...

Parade?

Looks like she's marching in a parade of some sort. Which one?

That was the Gay Pride

That was the Gay Pride parade on June 14, 2008.
