Here's a knife; stab him

Boston Police today charged three men for a fatal South Boston stabbing in May.

Edward Holloman, 19, of Lynn, is charged with repeatedly plunging a knife into Curtis Ashford, 24, of Roxbury at 289 E. 8 St. around 11 p.m. on May 31. Edward Mendez, 34, of Jamaica Plain, is charged with giving Holloman the knife and commanding him to stab Ashford. Darren Hemingway, 19, of Brighton, is charged with driving Holloman and Mendez away, then hiding them from police.

Police charge that Holloman and Mendez were in a fight with Ashford when Mendez gave Holloman a knife and told him to use it:

Holloman allegedly stabbed Ashford multiple times in the chest and abdomen and then, with Mendez and Hemingway, assaulted another man. Hemingway allegedly transported Holloman and Mendez from the scene and harbored them in the aftermath of the incident.

Holloman and Mendez are scheduled for arraignment on murder charges in South Boston District Court. An arraignment date for Hemingway has not yet been set.

In October, 2007, Hemingway pleaded guilty to two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon for his role in beating and stabbing a man at the Community College Orange Line stop. He was sentenced to six months in jail.
