Maybe they were too busy cracking down on fare evaders and MIT students
Boblothrope tried and failed to get any information out of the T last night why Red Line service was all bollixed up at Harvard. After 20 minutes with no inbound train:
I pushed the INFO button on the customer service phone. The phone autodialed what sounded like 2422, and nobody answered. Then it dialed another number (2423?) and someone who identified himself as "North Station" answered. He didn't know anything about the delay, and said there would surely be an announcement explaining the problem.
After another 10 minutes (with no announcements), a train came in going the wrong direction on the inbound track, dumped its passengers, and reversed to become an inbound train back to Boston.

well
at least they announce when a train is coming. the loud rumbling throughout the tunnel doesn't always tip me off. this is because I'm stupid.
I'm with stupid
Absolutely. Until they started to make announcements such as "AtehhsnfoosFhdsa (hiss) hsomfgd (hiss) fuusiwwzbb" at an extremely low volume in a station with horrible acoustics, I had no idea that you weren't allowed to smoke on the platforms, or that if I see something, I should say something.
I think we all should make an effort to approach ambassadors as much as possible, and anything we see, we point it out and say something. "Oooh, look! There's a pretty little T system map on the wall!" "Ooh! Mr. Ambassador! I see a load-bearing post right between the two tracks!" "Oh...my...God, Mrs. Ambassador. You're not going to believe this. There are some Charlie Card vending machines right outside these gates. You should totally see them. But remember to say something when you do."
This wouldn't have been
This wouldn't have been while this http://www.universalhub.com/node/15982 was happening, would it?
