Don't forget about the
Don't forget about the Residences at Kensington.
A rush to demolish buildings despite petitions from preservationists that ended with a vacant lot slowly filling with garbage and weeds.
Don't remind me about the Kensington
We were robbed of a piece of theatrical history in that debacle (and I'm not talking about the Glass Slipper.)
Anyway, the Filene's delay is almost non-surprising given the track record of these big bang touted developments. It is discouraging, however, to see that they actually manage to get to the demolition stage before going all stagnant, instead of politely leaving behind old buildings as people used to do. Dangit.
I want to add a new slogan to the all-too-twee slogans adorning the construction walls at the ground level:
Developers
MEET
Fail
don't know why I wanted to
don't know why I wanted to post this but...
could go all 1337 on the sign and write
noob devs = phail
