Classic headline
Never thought I'd see Prostitutes fight back as the main front-page headline on the Enterprise or any other non- Herald local paper. Parents of young children are going to have to do some 'splaining to their kids about this one, or else just hide the morning paper.
"...they're all prostitutes"
Defense Attorney Reddington doesn't want anybody, especially the jury which will be impaneled, to believe three prostitutes (who probably would have had sex with him anyway - even if he didn't pull a gun, pretend to be a cop, and force them to have sex with him.) Of course, there's a difference between the two crimes; one is a crime that he will be prosecuted for, and the other is one that they would be.
DA Cruz says prostitutes cannot be raped without legal consequences. I hope the suspect gets charged with impersonating an officer and and assault with a deadly weapon (no not his penis, his gun).
A Matter of Consent
All of us make a living one way or another. Just because you are willing to do your work for pay during normal business hours doesn't mean that your clients can show up in uniform with a gun and force you to do whatever work they want you to.
I find it interesting that there are still people in this day and age who seem to believe that a woman who consents to sex for money is somehow giving blanket consent to sex at any and all times.
No means no - it doesn't matter who is saying it. Dressing up as an authority and demanding tribute is simply another type of coercion.
Every time I write
Every time I write something, I erase it and think about it.
It's just a bummer. Not a real reflection on the FD as I see it. "Noted carpenter so and so busted..."
a matter of consent and solely rsponsible for his own actions
I agree with you both, SwirlyGrrl and dmcboston.
It is a matter of consent; and this is one man who acted on his own, not a member of a class of firemen, all who acted the same.
