Clearly a winner over Stop&Shop
I really meant to post a link in the S&S logo discussion, but was getting too bogged down in deciding if the new logo looked like a bunch of miscolored bananas or not, and forgot.
And self-scanning? Not everywhere. It was very interesting shopping at both Arlington (convenient) and Lexington (better selection) early this year. The self-scanners came out, and are OK (it's quicker if you really do bag as you go). And then suddenly they disappeared from the Arlington location. Ooops. I was wondering if they really had technical difficulties, or if the loss rate was higher than anticipated.
I didn't think to look - are the self-scanners back inside the newly "freshened" Arlington S&S?
I didn't see the logo story last week
But my GOD that's a butt-ugly new logo and makes me sad for Stop & Shop and mad for the idiot executive who decided a rebranding was in order. You've got one of the more iconic logos in New England so what do you do? COMPLETELY OVERHAUL IT.
Jeez. At least Dunkin Donuts keeps its color scheme.
