When kids who love chalk grow up

Huh?

They become construction engineers for projects in downtown Boston. Faegirl photographed the marked-up chaos on State Street by the Old State House the other day.

Directions for the Alien Invasion?

Does it have something to do with this?

What a bunch of pigs.

Disgusting is what it is.

I think it actually looks

I think it actually looks kind of cool. The main question is, if it was done by utility companies, I think we'd better be prepared for a massive loss of power and water soon, because that "diagram" is a clusterf*ck of directions.

Although, maybe Mumbles is just trying to create a new Freedom Trail of sorts. I can just see a bevy of confused tourists walking around this one block, holding a map, and seeing the sights of State Street.

I disagree. Its either:
-a beautiful registration of 400 years of history under that surface
-a clever piece of art
-a witty joke

I'll take any of those three, I love it

I was down there the other

I was down there the other day, and as I was walking over it, I noticed that someone had spray painted "Where's Waldo?" in one of the clear spaces.

I think that it is the basis

By faegirl | Wed, 09/03/2008 - 9:49pm

I think that it is the basis for ripping up the street (Devonshire) in the near future. There are 10 manhole covers in this one little area and each has a different color spray paint on it and a different border (dashes or straight lines).

Might be related to all that water we had earlier this year at this spot.

Either way, I don't look forward to them tearing up the street because I work right there, literally...I have to lead tourists over that sidewalk. Just makes work more interesting, I suppose.
