BC student gets quick physics lesson

F=ma, i.e., the Force with which you hit the ground when you try to shimmy down a tree just outside your second-floor window equals your mass times the size of your allegedly dumb ass when you slip and fall instead.

i know this was probably not the smartest move but lets not call him names until he is well enough to fight back.

For what reason?

because this kid is in critical condition with a head injury. if you want to dump on stupid college kids, ill be first in line, but lets give this kid a day or two to see if he even lives before we start bashing.its called compassion.

Kid?

According to the article, dude's 23. That's old enough to know better, or at least you'd think it was.

I walked by there this morning

I hadn't yet watched the news...as I am walking down South St. I see the 7 news truck. Then theres a blue Explorer with Keba Arnold from 25 asleep in the passenger seat.

So then further up the road, theres a tripod and a light setup and a gruesome blood "pile" on the edge of the sidewalk and on the curb. It was this gross 1" high pile of viscous red stuff...I want to puke from the image of it in my head. They must have been reporting from about 2 feet from the not-yet-cleaned up remains of massive head trauma. It was disgusting. I dont know how they could stand being there or why they had to be right on top of it.

After reading the story, I can't imagine what this kid was thinking, even if he was hammered. There is a 2" half-dead branch extending towards the balcony that could barely support a squirrel.

speaking of Keba Arnold..

ever notice that she starts EVERY sentence with the word "now"? The tic gets pretty irritating after a while....

Expected to live

The Globe reports he has head injuries, but that police expect him to survive. And he was trying to make a repeat performance:

Police said the man took the fall after making the jump about 40 minutes earlier. Witnesses told police that the man originally jumped off the balcony at a Commonwealth Avenue building, onto a branch and swung to the sidewalk.

And with that...

I officially have zero sympathy for the guy. Doing something that stupid once? Insanely reckless. Doing it twice? Just plain moronic. I'm sorry he's injured, but what did he expect?
