Trial in Turner Fisheries kitchen murder opens today

Ivan Sosa, 39, of Dorchester, faces a second-degree murder charge in Suffolk Superior Court for the death of co-worker Carlos Borrero, Jr. on Sept. 16, 2006.

The Suffolk County DA's office charges that Sosa couldn't take Borrero needling him about his failed attempts to date a waitress at the Westin Hotel restaurant - and began accusing him of telling the woman lies about him. So, prosecutors, say, Sosa stabbed him to death in the kitchen; other workers had to pull him away from the rapidly dying Borrero.
