How soon we forget

Bobby posts a photo of unkempt Jermaine Goffigan Park, named for a little boy murdered in a gang war in 1994.

Fixed in the post. I guess blogspot doesn't really have permalinks.

If the park is in such bad shape...

Why don't the PEOPLE who live in the area do something about it instead of sitting on their asses and waiting for the government to cut the grass.

I'd wager that if someone were to take a lawnmower over there, start cutting the grass and cleaning up the park, he could put up a sign for donations and people would respond quite favorably.

There's a lot of good inside people. It just needs a spark sometimes to come out.

It reminds me of the 2005 mayoral race when Maura Hennigan walked down the street and talked about how more tax dollars needed to be spent to pick up the litter on the sidewalk.

What prevented her from getting a trash bag and spending half an hour cleaning up the neighborhood her damn self? Would have got her quite a few more votes, I'd bet.

There are few things City Hall can do to improve the quality of life in the city that the residents can't do better by themselves.

Forgot to add...

...people would respond quite favorably.

People not on the city payroll that is. Menino's code enforcement squad would probably have him arrested for not having applied for a landscaping permit.
