Boston's secret is out

An Emory student up here to interview director Clark Gregg has a chance run-in with Mel Gibson at the Ritz-Carlton, which helps him decode Boston:
So this is my first taste of what Boston is like: filled with charismatic indie directors, fancy and aromatic hotels, millions of sexually worked up college kids — and of course, one workaholic anti-Semite.

I told them we never should
I told them we never should have let a Southerner into the gates of Boston, now everyone will know that we harbor Mel Gibson and decorate with apples. Heck my apartment has jars filled with apples, a room for sexaholic college students and a bay window with a day bed just in case Mel Gibson stops by between movie scenes.
Talk about your wild generalizations. Im sure if I went into a Ritz Carlton (or Ritz Carlton type hotel) in Atlanta (and if Atlanta doesnt have one the closest city to them that does) I am sure I would run into all sorts of snooty people in black cocktail dresses and bow ties there as well. Thats what the Ritz is there for, its like a social club for rich people, so I am not suprised that Mel Gibson would be staying there (what no Holiday Inn in Braintree or Saugus near where his movie is being shot?) As for the apples, its fall, so you put out fall items. That means apples, leaves, pumpkins, scarecrows, hay bales. Seeing as most of those are not very fancy an artisitic arrangement of apples seems like it was the best way to go with it.
Look on the bright side
At least he no longer thinks we're all just a bunch of annoying Irish drunks.
Well Im at least two of
Well Im at least two of those... two out of three aint bad.
Hotels
Hotels are like airports - they are bubbles of their own reality. If they attempt to evoke the local environment, it is a reflection that sometimes veers into parody composed of theme decor, products, etc.
People who are hanging out in hotels and airports are often either just passing through or avoiding what is outside. They are not part of the local decor.
Quo Vadimus
Semi-off topic, but I've totally been in love with Clark Gregg since Sports Night.
Also, I totally believe that Mel Gibson said that.
