No ants in their pants
The folks at Pet Cabaret in Roslindale report they had to break the news to a caller yesterday that they don't carry ants:
... "Ants?" I say, "Why, no...you can get them outside..."
"Oh." came the reply and a polite "Thank you" followed. ...
This comes about a month after somebody called the store to ask if they sold piranhas (answer: no).

Ant farms
These are actually sold, but I'd look in some place like the Museum of Science gift shop rather than a pet store.
Maybe they should start stocking Sea Monkeys
Although I bet keeping track of the crowns would be hard, given how small they are.
Wait, piranhas is well,
Wait, piranhas is well, yeah, crazy. Ants though... ever heard of ant farms? Can someone point that out to him? I'm not registered with blogger.
Ant farms
Ant farms are the best! You buy the farm, and then a tube of ants is mailed to you.
The ants get to work and dig tunnels. The one I had survived a long time in ant years - a few months.
I don't know if ant farms can be self-sustaining or if they inevitably suffer an ecological or demographic collapse.
Maybe it's time to get another ant farm and try to optimize conditions.
We've had many ant farms
Like, right under the bricks that make up our front walk :-).
This year's was the coolest: We'd left the umbrella for our deck table on the deck and when I finally got it upright and in the table, discovered an entire colony was using the folds of the umbrella for their home. Alas, they didn't like being disturbed and so quickly gathered up all the eggs and scurried away - 15 minutes later you'd never have known they were there.
A Bug out
In MASH, isn't that what they called it when they had to move the entire hospital? Seems fitting here ;-)
