Oh, well
So, so close. Give the Rays credit, thank the Sox for a good season and get some sleep.
Beth sums it up:
... The feeling I have right now is like the feeling after a great concert has ended. The house lights come up and you squint, sigh, start thinking about the ride home. But you know you'd been spoiled by a generous performer--on the heels of a championship, this team treated us to one hell of an encore.

No diff
They did a great job this year!
That was a great game, and
That was a great game, and the Rays are a great team. It's great to have more competition in the AL East, it only means better baseball...
Really, though, this is only to be expected as more teams embrace sabremetrics/moneyball and do a better job of building teams...
Of course, none of that actually tempers the pain of knowing baseball is over for me until March... :(
It was said that everytime
It was said that everytime we were in the World Series or Superball ect the region lost productivit as people became obsessed with the game. With the economy the way it is right now maybe the silver lining to this is we wont be so distracted and wont lose that productivity when we need it most ;) After all the Boston Police Department must be under some financial stress, think of how much money Boston will save on riot gear this year.
That being said, its too bad, but hey this city waited several decades to win it all in the past, in the whole scheme of things whats several months until the season starts anew?
Really Good Baseball
Last night's game was about as good as baseball gets. Edge-of-your-seat tension throughout, some sparkling plays, enough borderline calls to gripe about, one or two managerial decisions to be second-guessed, and the team that deserved it won. Rays over the Phillies in 6.
