I went for a six-mile walk to get rid of some anger and eventually I ducked into the monastery on Memorial Drive. The street was bustling with drunk Head of the Charles regatta groupies, but as soon as I shut the heavy door behind me, the chapel was stone cold silent. (I guess that's because the chapel is made of cold stone.) I sat in the back, rested my head against the stone, and poof, I wasn't angry anymore. ...

It's startling to know that there's a monastery a short distance from Harvard Square! Even more startling to me was when I found clear reference to the same monastery in a British novel published in 1956 - Rose Macaulay's THE TOWERS OF TREBIZOND.
