Was Mr. Slate consulted on this deal?

The West Roxbury Bulletin reports Roxbury Latin School has bought a large chunk of West Roxbury Crushed Stone's property - and could eventually buy the rest, including the giant quarry from which the company now extracts stone, to be crushed.
The school, which claims to be the nation's oldest, spent $22 million for 47 acres, with an option to buy the rest when the quarry shuts down in another 10 or 15 years, the paper reports.
The quarry is that amoeba-like thing; Roxbury Latin is to its north (photo from the BRA's Boston Atlas):

Mr Slate?
I guess it's an "In" joke, but who is Mr. Slate?
Meet Mr. Slate
He was Fred Flintstone's boss at the quarry.
Wikipedia entry (which shows how Wikipedia can suck the joy out of just about anything).
Haha
ROFL Flinstones puns? That's great
Only if by "in" you mean...
In front of the TV in the 60's and 70's.
I'm guessing it was an allusion to Fred's boss on The Flintstones.
Magister Tabula will be joining the faculty
Where he will conjugate:
Yabba Dabba Doo
Yabba Dabba Das
Yabba Dabba Dat
What are you?
A rubblerouser or something?
In 10 to 15 years
Will they bury it with Rox, or would that be filling it with Rubble?
It won't be easy to have a gay old time...
...given all of the bedrock conservatives in West Roxbury.
