But the sign says I'm not responsible

Driving to work this morning I saw something that made me both laugh and get angry. A truck (the kind that carries those highway rocks that crack windshields) was ahead of me on the Tobin bridge. On the back of the truck was a sign that said "Not Responsible for Broken Windshields."
You can see the picture and read a little bit more (not much though) here.

Maybe not as silly as it seems
Given that the truck also says "Keep Back 100 Feet," the "not responsible" bit might actually be accurate (legally speaking). They're warning you to keep back and if you don't, you're on your own. (Obviously, any court case arising out of a broken windshield caused by one of these trucks would be a little more complicated; if the owner of the broken windshield were tailgating the truck on the Pike, the owner's chances of winning a lawsuit would be lower than if she were in a situation where keeping back 100 feet would be impractical, like at a stop light in the city.)
