I am heartbroken - this was a multi-generation tradition in my family, as my mother recalled going when she was a child (her maternal grandfather had been a flower grower in upstate New York.) It has also been a real antidote to late winter, and something I looked forward to from the New Year on. The proposed alternative of some displays in hotel and business lobbies throughout downtown Boston sounds worthless.
Bayside Expo is closing eventually to be replaced by new development, so the flower show would have had to move sooner or later anyway. But cancelling it entirely? That sucks.
