Way easier than I thought it'd be
As I approached the Ferryway School in Malden I saw one Obama sign holder and one guy with an Obama sign AND a Kerry sign. Cover all your bases. I was expecting some problems due to someone at the registrar of voters changing my gender from female (which I am, and is what's on my license) to male and due to a screw up with my name at the RMV but I had no problems! A very pleasant surprise.
There were a decent amount of people there, and a disproportionately large line for Ward 1, Precinct 2 at 8:30, though my husband said that was not the case at 7:45 when he voted.
The bakesale put on by the school was a nice touch, though I didn't have any cash so I couldn't buy anything. Too bad. I could have gone for a rice krispie treat. However, the real highlight of my day were the people collecting signatures to repeal the Pay to Throw program.
One heartwarming thing I saw when I was leaving was the VERY excited woman who walked out ahead of me. There was a cop outside and the woman said "I voted! I did it! I was supposed to be on the 105 that just passed but I did it!"
