The old defective-cherries scam

Cambridge Police report:

On 11/8/08 at 6:01 PM, an employee of Liquor World on White St. reported that a white female claimed to have bought six jars of defective cherries and received money from the clerk to reimburse her for the bad product. It was later discovered that the female did not buy the cherries.

A liquor store is not where I would normally go to buy fruit.

Cherries go with alcohol like the above.

$41 dollars for a jar of cherries?

*Note: I'm not a huge fan of the "design" changes on the comments form.

I misread the report, because I have the eyesight of a bat (or maybe it's the concentration of a piece of wood).

My favorite when I lived in the Back Bay was Choice Mart on Mass Ave. They had everything you could ever need to accompany your binge drinking (mac n cheese, anyone? frozen pizza?). The limes always came in handy when I didn't want to walk the extra block to Shaw's, but I can't say I ever tried to return one...

Defective maraschino cherries... they were all green and had these little pimento things sticking out of them.

Since my mental development ended in the early 1980s, naturally, I now can't get the following out of my head, arrgh:

the sideways, appraising look Belushi gives, as if he's making absolutely sure that he's hearing what he thinks he's hearing. The fact that he stops to assess the song for that long before wreaking havoc is what really makes it, IMHO.
