When did Hyde Park secede from Boston?

A Globe story about Dedham's issues with porn zoning and the Amazing bookstore includes this:
The Rhode Island-based business won the right to retain its longtime location at Route 1 and Eastern Avenue after proving that Dedham's 18-year-old adult zone on the Boston, Hyde Park, and Canton border was created specifically so no one would locate there. That site, a sprawling former Stop & Shop shipping facility, has no access to Dedham.
So: Hyde Park is separate from Boston? Also, the property does have access to Dedham, just not direct access, via Readville. But that would be nitpicking and I would never do that.

I wrote a quick note...
to Michele about her Hyde Park/Boston error. She thanked me for the info, but surprised me by saying that she grew up in Canton and still had no idea Hyde Park was Boston.
So, what is the editor's excuse?
So let's pretend Hyde Park isn't part of Boston
Then, why did the article also list 'Boston' as one of the bordering towns?
Because the property is in Readville
And Readville must be in Boston because that's where the mayor is from. It's like our very own Kaliningrad Oblast (or Norfolk County's very own Brookline, but don't get me started on that again).
Hyde Park/Boston boundary marker.
If Hyde Park wasnt part of
If Hyde Park wasnt part of Boston, what does that make Menino! lol
