He'll always be our Nomah

By now, of course, you've all heard how Nomah saved a couple of ladies who fell into the harbor in Charlestown.

Ilana, who lives in Charlestown, says the best part of the story isn't that Nomah's a hero or that his uncle Vic supposedly jumped into the Hahbah from their condo balcony 20 feet up. It's the fact that the second woman fell in after the first (and she's sticking to that even after reading that the second woman fell in trying to save the first, not because she was too tipsy herself).

Staff: Nice job Nomie. Welcome back...

Domenico: Only in Boston.

Andrew: It's nice to know that there are still some good guys left playing the greatest game EVER!!!!

Nick: Boston...you let him go for what reason again? This man can cure cancer.

The Hon. John Fritchey: This is the type of character that you want your kids to learn.

M. Bell: Nomar Garciaparra is apparently still good for something.

Grieve Rules notes the Fark.com headline on the rescue:

"Nomar Garciaparra saves two women from drowning; A-Rod and Jeter said to be in good condition"

Unfogged: Now, how many minutes before the Boston press accuses him of making up the story and paying someone to be a "witness"?

Is this another Boston trend we were not really aware of:
"Sports Superheroes that protect the denizens of our fair city."
First A-Rod on Newbury and now Nomar.

aw, c'mon!

Aw, c'mon...you gotta admit before we got the details that the initial story was at least a little weird. Yes, it was a nice thing the woman tried to do for her friend, and even nicer what Nomar and Nomar's uncle did. And, yes, I still heart Nomar.

Don't take life so literally and smile. =)
