Two women mugged at gunpoint in Cambridge

Cambridge Police report on two gunpoint muggings a few blocks apart last night.

A woman walking on Pleasant Street at Kelly Road around 10:20 last night was held up by two men:

[T]wo black males about 18 years old wearing dark colored hooded sweatshirts approached her from behind. One suspect demanded money several times and she told them she did not have any. One suspect then pointed a small black handgun and kept demanding money. The reporting party then placed her black bag on the ground and one of the suspects grabbed it and both fled on Pleasant St. towards River St.

Around 9:50 last night, a woman walking on Pacific Street was robbed of cash and credit cards by two black men, one of whom gestured as if he had a gun.

The two locations on a map.

MIT has a new-ish graduate

MIT has a new-ish graduate housing building on Pacific. I wonder whether the victim is a resident of the building or otherwise visiting it.

MIT has at least three dorms/apartment buildings on Pacific: the one you linked to (70 Pacific), the just-completed grad dorm at 235 Albany, and a third building across Albany.

There are also four non-MIT residential buildings mixed into the University Park life-sciences complex. Across the street from 70 Pacific is 100 Landsdowne, a high-rise whose tenants are rumored to be brilliant, heart-throbbingly attractive and unusually charming.

Thanks. Shows how long I've

Thanks. Shows how long I've been away from MIT.

And also, I shall be sure to propagate that rumor. :)
