Young black leaders seek piece of leadership pie

The Globe details efforts by a younger crop of black leaders in Boston - who use phrases like "paradigm of governance" - to fill the vacuum left by Dianne Wilkerson and, soon, possibly, Chuck Turner.

I think this is whats needed
I think this is whats needed from people of all races and colors. It sounds like these new leaders want to advance the political aspirations of black people without making it into an us versus them brawl. I know alot of people who say they feel bad because they have no ill will towards blacks but they cant stand all the black leaders, and who can blame them, who likes someone who no matter what you do tells you your evil because of something someone who looks like you did years and years ago. My relatives were poor immigrants who worked in factories next to black people, and had alot of the same problems, so when someone like Jesse Jackson or Chuck Yancey tells them that they had some sort of advantage in life or blames them for the problems the black community faces they get mad. I think whats telling is those same relatives voted for Obama, mainly because he got up on the podium and said he wanted to lead the whole country. It was a certain portion of the white population that was responsible for keeping whites/blacks/asians ect seperate for so long, but that group lost power a long time ago. I look forward to seeing these new leaders emerge, I think only good things can come out of this.
