This is why I wouldn't go
This is why I wouldn't go hunting. It might be fun, but getting shot by some Nimrod just isn't worth it.
That's agreed, NotWhitey.
Not that I even own a hunting rifle, much less any other type of gun, but it's just not worth it to risk one's limb and life unnecessarily. If i lived way, way out in the neck of the woods and had no other option but to go out to hunt deer or whatever for food, that would be another story, however
It truly amazes me...
... how a hunter can shoot at something when he really doesn't know what it is. Most of the places I go mt biking allow hunting, and you wonder every once in awhile.
When my sister & I were young kids,
When my sister and I were young kids, growing up in a very wooded area, we were always warned by our parents to be careful when we went outside to play on the weekends during the hunting season, due to the presence of hunters. Some of the kids that we used to play with said that they had to be sure to make a lot of noise when playing outside, just to let their parents know that they were still alive.
Does anybody know the
Does anybody know the whereabouts of Dick Cheney this morning?
there goes the local hour...
...on howie carr's show today.
Guys with guns frowned upon near nuclear power plants
And to our north, the US Coast Guard reports two duck hunters were taken into custody when their boat got within 250 yards of the Seabrook nuclear-power plant today:
If there's a 'security zone', why isn't there a fence?
Or, since this is in the water, a line of buoys?
I don't think it's reasonable to expect hunters or anyone else to avoid crossing an unmarked invisible line (or circle).
Maybe the buoys ruin property owners' view of the sea..
...you know, like those horrible windmills they want to put in Nantucket Sound.
I think it's common sense in this post-9/11 world to steer clear of a potential terrorism target such as a nuclear power plant, when one is carrying firearms. See the big cooling towers, go in the other direction. Not that hunters always exercise common sense, y'understand.

who and the what now?
Tidal Swamps
Seabrook has a bunch of tidal swampland around it. That makes it difficult to fence, and difficult to put buoys out.
Oh buoy
They can't anchor some buoys in the swamp when the water's low?
seems unfair.
