Forget French toast: A new alert for days like this
By adamg - 12/10/08 - 11:51 am
Shane reports he's activated his Shorts Alert System, so Cambridge types should be on the lookout for a guy walking around in white shorts today:
I will freely admit that my M.T.F.S. - Minimum Temperature For Shorts - has risen with my age. In college, it was around 40°F. Several years after that, I realized that as much as I love shorts, my M.T.F.S. had risen to about 50°F, since that was comfortable, and I didn’t need to prove anything else. Now as I have a child, I've realized I've let my M.T.F.S. slip into the mid-50's, just out of practicality

Face melting on the T
A couple of relevant tweets:
Does not want crowded train to work, full of sweaty ppl. Why sweaty, bc though it's 50 degrees out, the heat is on full force. Hate MBTA.
Suggesting: Hey, MBTA, maybe we don't actually need that heat blasting today. My face is melting.
Sorry, what?
It's how warm out?
What the f- am I suppose to wear in weather like this (other than shorts)?
Serves me right
This is what happens when you wash all the lighter-weight outerwear to put away for the season. Had to get my sprout's windbreaker out of the dryer to wear to school today. sigh...
It's an iced coffee day
at least for me -- the first one I've ordered in weeks.
I had just started getting
I had just started getting decaf coffee in the morning for the past three days because it was so cold out. This warm weather has saved me from 5 straight days of drinking coffee, which would have led me down the path of becoming a coffee person, *shudders*.
Come to the dark side
Bwa ha ha ha! You know you want to join the rest of us in our addiction. It's OK, you can still drink it with milk.
Did anyone else notice problems accessing UH today? The site kept timing out on me most of the time on me today - both the home page and especially the login and posting links. Very odd. Seemed like someone's routing tables got messed up somewhere.
I actually drink it straight
I actually drink it straight up when I drink coffee, no sugar no milk no flavors. Its only business, no pleasure lol.
I wore a T-shirt to work
I wore a T-shirt to work today, no coat.
On Monday, I saw a guy in shorts while I was waiting for the T. I would've thought he was crazier, except I came from a hot apartment thinking it was going to be like 35, so I had a skirt and socks on myself.
Three-in-One by Columbia Sportswear
How do I love thee? Three ways, of course.
Monday am: deep freeze cold out. Wearing both layers: the weather resistant outer coat with hood over the warm inner coat. The two pieces snap together if I want to bother with that.
Monday pm: wet and getting warmer and windy. Inner coat goes into pack, outer gore-tex repels rain and wind
Tuesday am: too windy for a umbrella, wet, warm. I wear the outer shell and open the underarm zippers to ventilate so I can zip up the outer to stay dry.
If it is above freezing but still chilly and dry, I use the inside jacket on its own.
