Second alleged scammer catches Adrian Walker

First Dianne Wilkerson and her Dejavu story. Now Walker reports he - and many other people - were had by Jake Severino, a bright young Dorchester man who, it turns out, is not dying of cancer like he told Walker he was back in September.

Jake Severino had a simple explanation for why he started telling the world he was dying. "I wanted to be loved," he said. "I wanted to be loved more than I was."

What a scam artist!

Wow, that Severino is one amazing scam artist!

Not only has he now managed to bamboozle the Boston Globe's metro columnist Adran Walker, he's been scamming others in Boston's media market for years now.

Severino changed his name to Severin and pulls the same kind of stuff every day on his listeners over at WTKK. Scamming his listeners day in, day out... fortunately there's a Severin Watch to keep track of all these shenanigans.

That Severino/Severin guy's house of cards is about to come crashing down! Don't believe a word he says! Liar!

What?

What leads you to believe this is the same person?

Not the same person, obviously

That would be big news.

I give credit to Walker for writing about this, and for trying to help in the first place.

Is this Severino scam an example of Munchhausen's Syndrome?

I do believe it was a joke
