Jim Marzilli? Could you please just go away?

You're really embarrassing yourself and getting the rest of us annoyed.

Are you directing your ire

Are you directing your ire at the policy in general of double pensions for such officials, or at Marzilli himself? I was amazed that such a reward was available to all politicians who failed to become re-elected after 20 years.

Also, shouldn't the fact that he resigned affect his candidacy for the bonus? I'd hardly call that "not getting re-elected," even if his name did remain on the ballot.

Seriously?

Were you really surprised that a law like this exists? This is Massachusetts.

The law sucks, yes

Marzilli sucks even more for trying to take advantage of it.

End of year poll

By JimboJones | Wed, 12/24/2008 - 3:03pm

I think you should take an end-of-year poll of topics that you'll never cover again, for all of 2009.

This is one of the ones I wish would go away. Forever.

I hear a big "I told you so"

I hear a big "I told you so" coming. Howie... Howie Carr,,, is that you? Yes, Howie, you were right.

Marzilli sounds like a disgusting lout.

He doesn't belong in office.

And he isn't.

By Ron Newman | Thu, 12/25/2008 - 12:08am

He resigned.

Oh, you mean-spirited bastards!

I thought the poor guy was suffering from a disease, and
we all needed to be compassionate and understanding?

Where are all those Marzilli-enablers who defended
him and excused the Lowell grope-a-thon as the result
of a debilitating illness? Isn't this greed-headed grab
just another symptom of the same "medical condition?"
