When a snow emergency is declared by the City of Somerville, parking is banned on the even-numbered sides of streets in order to facilitate plowing the streets. People are generally given a 4-hour time frame to move their cars and either park on the odd--numbered sides of the streets or in designated municiple or school parking lots if they can't find a space on the odd-numbered street sides. Imho, this is an excellent rule, and I'm glad to see it's in place.
There used to be quite a bit of space-saving here in Somerville, but, thankfully, not any more.
