Varitek for at least one more year

According to a boston.com breaking news alert, Varitek has agreed to a one-year deal with the Sox. I know people have been bad-mouthing Tek a bit but I'm happy the quad-endowed catcher is sticking around.

Hey, I'm not a Red Sox fan, but this guy is a key part of this ballclub's new Golden Era. Hopefully when he and the team are ready to part company, it will be on terms that don't spoil that association.
