Hit and run at home

I see we're not the only people to have their car smashed into while parked outside their house:
... Anyway, for a few days while waiting for the insurance company to assess the damage, we drove around in our smashed up car. It was embarrassing as we try to keep everything we own in excellent condition. So it was pretty humiliating when while driving through Dorchester one day a kid yelled out, "Hey mister, you gotta pimp your ride!" ...

A little over two years ago, my car was actually totalled when someone slammed into it where it was legally parked in front of my apartment in JP. Thankfully, not only did my neighbors see the whole thing, but the driver stuck around to take the blame. (I'd like to think she would have stayed even if (a) her 5-year-old son hadn't been in her car, and (b) tons of people on the street hadn't seen her and her license plate. But there's a reason my middle name is cynical.)
It happens!
The *first* time my car was smashed into outside the house, the driver stuck around. Then again, she probably had to get out to see what she'd just done to her SUV.
