wait...
So would that be in addition to or instead of the JP store?
NOOOOOO BOOMERANGS, DON'T LEAVE JP!!! You're so convenient and cuddly there!
I bet it's in addition
Westie gives JP the Real Deal, JP reciprocates with Boomerangs :-).
It'll be interesting to see what happens to Savers.
Is savers second-hand stuff
Is savers second-hand stuff or just marginally discounted household, candy, greeting cards, etc?
Savers is like a Salvation
Savers is like a Salvation Army style store.
So is it mostly second hand
So is it mostly second hand clothing?
Yeah, but with assorted other stuff
Old toys, even old cameras and computers from time to time.
Savers is a chain. They do
Savers is a chain. They do the selling, and give money to non-profits. I just dropped off two bags at the WR Savers and bought a casual suit jacket for $6.99. It's a typical thrift store - kitchen stuff, furniture, electronics etc, but mostly clothes.

Brighton Center store closed recently
Boomerangs had a store in Brighton Center for a couple of years, but closed around two years ago due to apparently slow sales and a hike in the lease.
It's great having a store like that around. Anything of value for young children, though, would get snatched up almost immediately. I hope they figure out how to price everything high enough to make ends meet in their new store.
Good
It would be great to have someone move into Decelle - that building is really going downhill fast.
Interesting that they will use the 2nd & 3rd floors - I wonder if there are any plans for the 1st floor. It would be great if some decent store opened there too.
Speaking of Decelle ...
the former Decelle, later Burlington Coat Factory, in Porter Square is still vacant. It's not a great location, though -- a basement under Shaw's.
If they leave JP the only
If they leave JP the only reason to go to the center will be to get booze and buy paint at the hardware store. But I can't imagine that is in the cards. They do REALLY well down there. The place is the busiest on Center Street.

It would suck if they left
It would suck if they left JP, I cant see myself walking into the West Roxbury location nearly as often. I remember their first store by North Station, that must have been around 98. They're great for books and kitchen items, as for kids stuff they really dont do much, intentionally it seems. Sometimes there is a bit too much attitude from the staff but I guess thats part of the charm, having sullen art school kids.
on a side note
I saw yesterday that there is a Facebook group called "My mom used to buy my clothes at Decelle's in West Roxbury" Those crazy kids have groups for everything nowadays.
