What about Bruce Schwegler?

What about Bruce Schwegler?

What happened to Bruce Schwegler? Retired?

what happened to Bruce Schwegler . . . did he retire?

My mother saw an interview

My mother saw an interview with Bruce. He said that when a 27 year old manager told him that he had to make seven day forecasts - or else - because that's what people wanted, he knew it was time to go. At the time, two days was the reasonable limit in the business.

Matt Noyes!

Matt Noyes!

Matt Noyes

Why did they change Matt Noyes spot on the morning weather report?
I miss him. It's just not the same without him.
Please don't change the guy who does the traffic report too.

Bruuuuuce

Schwoegler, forever and always.

Mish Michaels!

I know it says weatherman, but come on! There's nothing sexier than a weather chick who's an honest to goodness meteorologist!

How could you forget all the women?

I can't be the only one...

Who thinks Matt Noyes on NECN is the best!

No Offense Intended

I only remembered the guys. Mea Culpa! Perhaps you might post a separate poll concerning the women, and then the two winners could have a showdown? :-)

Would that involve...

bikinis and mud?

other

CNN's Flip Spiceland (for having the best name)

What, no Bill Ayers or Bernardine Dorn?

Oh, you mean television meteorologists ... nevermind!

What about...

WBZ's Bruce Schwoegler?

Ooh...

Very bad omission on my part. Oops.

What about Bruce Schweigler,

What about Bruce Schweigler, Dr Fred Ward, Mark Rosenthal, Todd Gross, Mike Wankum and David Brown to name a few more. Although I do like Mish Michaels.

what the...how could you forget?

what about kevin lemanowicz? at least he gets it right most of the time...!

Jim, how could you?

How could you leave off Dr. Fred Ward, who would let you know just how cold it would be tomorrow by the number of O's he'd put in "COOOOOOLD" on his map?

Mike Wankum!

But mostly because I like to mispronounce his name and dream up new billboard slogans for him: "Mike Wankum beats off the competition!"

Yep.. Wank!

Mike Wankum is the one...

Another Wank fan

Loved him on Ch 56's 10:00 news. Glad he was able to stay in the Boston area!!

WANK

no point in watching TV news widdout him

How about

...whichever one tells me that someday before I'm dead it WON'T be under 30 degrees with a 30 mph wind?

Bob Copeland

Also...

"I don't remember being a meteorologist, but if you say so."

Yes, Bob Copeland

Glad to see someone else remember curly-haired Bob. Every morning on Ch. 5's the Eye-opener. He was a rock. And he led the way through the Blizzard of '78. He should win most underrated.

Bow before the GROSS

Todd Gross had the ability to make his own snow. Poll over.

too bad he got axed by seven

too bad he got axed by seven and sent to utah!

you forgot an option:

|x| Does not watch local news

Coming out of the Colonial

Coming out of the Colonial Theatre with a group of friends a bunch of years back, I was lucky enough to spot Mark Rosenthal in the exiting crowd. I said "Oh my God - it's Mark Rosenthal! Hi Mark!" and he smiled and said hello. My friends were all like "who the f?" but they couldn't take away from my glow.

Still, I think Don Kent is a legend that cannot be challenged. Even if Dylan Dryer does do it for me in other ways.

johnny come lately

You probably didn't put him because you knew it would be a blowout, I understand.

David Brown!!

David Brown of Ch 5. He's now an anchor in the morning, but he was the weatherman before.

Who?

Who is Dick Alpert?

How could you forget....

Nancy Russo!

Especially when she was preggers and, well, filled the screen.

In all seriousness, Bruce Schwoegler was the best. Currently, I'd go with Kevin Lemanowicz.

Mike Leach

Mike Leach did a bang-up job: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSPcMXWJjUg

"Well, you're gonna be dead in a hundred years--live dangerously."

Weather with Al!

Weather with Al!

How can you forget Al Kaprielian?

Um...

... I didn't.

I'm guilty of missing LOTS of people in this poll, but Al certainly wasn't one of them.

When news was news, and a bit of personality entertained

Walter Cronkite for news and Howard Cosell for sports

L...A...D...I...E...S and

L...A...D...I...E...S and G...E...N...T...L...E...M...E...N... ,and thats the way it is.

Matt Noyes or Al Kaprelian...

... both rock.

Bruce Schwoegler, however, was an embarrassment to weatherfolk everywhere [IMNSHO]. I used to change off of Channel 4 whenever he'd appear on the screen. Bleah!

joe joyce-party boy

necn has joe joyce. i think he got busted with some oxycontin and trying to scalp counterfeit tickets at a buffet show a few years back.he seems to be the permanent weekend guy. who does oxycontin at a buffet show?

Well...

who does oxycontin at a buffet show?

I took oxycontin after a dental catastrophe and it let me sleep through anything. For me, then, it'd be the perfect way to enjoy a Jimmy Buffett show.

Sleepburger in paradise...

Sleepburger in paradise...

I wouldn't have to take

I wouldn't have to take anything to sleep at a Buffet show.

I heart Matt Noyes!

What about Matt Noyes!

Favorite weatherman?

I'm also jumping on the Bruce Schwoegler bandwagon.

I loved him.

The what bandwagon?!

The what bandwagon?!

RE: The what bandwagon?!

The Ellis-Pepper Bandwagon was a method used by WBZ in 1974. I think was for two reasons. First was to introduce Tony Pepper as Tom Ellis's new partner. Second was likely elections going on in New England. This was before Tom left, and Jack Williams came and unseated him.

Gross Arrows

I miss Todd Gross and his crazy arrows.

Matt Noyes. Hands down. Not

Matt Noyes.

Hands down. Not even a contest.

Dr Fred for sure

The most accurate and who can forget "Gorilla in the gulf" or the "three H's"
