Writing a book about social media without having a Facebook, MySpace or Twitter account

Scott Kirsner wonders how local marketing macher Larry Weber can come out with a second edition of his book Marketing to the Social Web without accounts on any of the big social sites or, for that matter, a blog (although his company does have one):

Not that I've looked (for that matter, I never heard of this guy until now), but just wondering.

Reminds me of the computer

Reminds me of the computer technology professor I had when I was in college who did not know what a PDA was in the early 2000's. Makes me wonder how he could be telling me how to use a computer and its applications properly if he was not familiar with PDAs and other computer devices that by that time were well ingrained in society.

I've seen a lot of this. A lot (not all) people over the age of 30 just don't really GET facebook or myspace, since they grew up in a completely different paradigm.

Our Dear Leader definitely hit the nail on the head though.
