Don't diss the Dunkin' Donuts dude

He might come out from behind his counter and slash all your tires, as the MetroWest Daily News reports:

... "He slashed the tires on the left side of the Jeep, then he went around slashed the tires on the right side. He put the knife back in his pocket, walked away and continued to serve customers." ...

Never piss off a 39 year old male Dunkin Donuts employee, makes sense. The way I see it is a male 39 year old DD guy must either be someone who cant hold down a job elsewhere, someone who lost a job elsewhere, or someone who just doesnt care (unless he is management or something.) Its possible he is a stay at home father, student (late in life), or working a second job as well. All of those scenarios say to me he is gonna be stressed out and easily pushed over the edge lol.

He's going to have a harder time getting a job now...

He might get one with room and board included. And interesting roommates with hobbies that involve the sort of holes not found in donuts.

Does DD even make complex coffees? I guess maybe I'm too used to getting a simple medium Regular, but Dunkin' doesn't strike me as a place where coffee seems that long and/or complicated to prepare.

They do more then just coffee, some of their drinks are quite complicated. Then you have the hash browns, flat breads, pizzas, bagels, waffle sandwiches and a host of other things. Its possible that the guy was balancing working the toasters for a previous customer while cleaning, while waiting for the coffee to do whatever it needed to do. I dont envy DD employees. It used to be easy, heres your coffee heres a donut have a good day NEXT!

It's not the fault of the customer if the business is understaffed.

It's also not the customer's fault if the employee can't handle the job they applied for. Employment is at-will here, which sucks because it means your boss can fire you for no reason at all- but one of the few perks is you can say "see ya" just about any time.

Surely not, but it sure ain't the employee's fault either.

Cuz the last few times I ordered coffee from any DD, I was served syrupy brown glurp that tasted nothing like coffee...

The fact that he went back in and continued serving customers shows me that this is a man who will brook no ill will towards the Dunkin Donuts corporation. Bravo!

Now there's somebody who should really switch to decaf!

Let's see if his customers notice.

What's even more fascinating about this incident are the comments at the bottom of the MetroWest article. There are at least three calling for the deportation of the disgruntled clerk, despite the fact that there is no evidence that he is an immigrant--illegal or otherwise.
They figure the disgruntled clerk is a "wetback" because his last name is hard to pronounce and he's working in a Dunkin Donuts. Thus, he somehow deserves all the abuse he had received merely trying to make someone's coffee.
No, tire-slashing isn't the typical response to an unreasonable customer....but what food service employee hasn't fantasized about retaliating?

More specifically, it has a couple of yahoos fine, upstanding 'Mericans who make it their business to harass every brown-skinned person they see walking down Waverly Street, and pretty much every article discussion on the MetroWest Daily News ultimately seems to devolve into blaming Brazilians for everything that's wrong in Framingham today.

Google

brazilians framingham rizzoli

for more.

There are folks in Somerville who used to do the same thing with every Union Square story listed on the Somerville News website.

So far, the city has managed to stay incorporated despite all the doom and gloom predictions. I don't know how it manages to do that.

You gotta give some of them some props tho, here are my favorite comments:

Did they have to put 4 donuts on the jeep to drive it away?

Serenity Now' sounds like a Seinfeld episode.

I guess America is not running on duncins'.

Gentlemen. Try the decaf next time

and the number one best comment on the story...

I hope Zazulak at least obeyed the 'Employees must wash hands after slashing tires' sign before he resumed serving.

I tried to work in food service a few times, I could definitely see doing this.

You're gonna take this damn coffee I made for you one way or the other.

Anyway we should all try treating store employees as human beings. With knives. What a polite place Boston would be!

I find it highly amusing that this Dunks is next to a tire store.
