The sidewalk situation in Newton is despicable. Even sidewalks that I would think the city would be responsible for clearing (sidewalks alongside municipal lots and parks) are snow covered. It's very dangerous and it discourages being a pedestrian.

It turns out that in a leafy suburb like Newton, some people might not shovel their sidewalks because, in fact, they don't have sidewalks.

And I thought that story was tastless because Newton residents by law dont have to shovel their sidewalks if they have them anyway.
