Is there some competition this week for worst restaurant press release? First we had the A-Roid Cocktail. Now there's this.

Well, it's about time.
I hate going to Abe & Louie's and hearing the shrieks of the skinny women when they confront the portions. It's such a horrible epidemic, all the steakhouses are taking drastic measures to cope. They'll soon be designating one of the floors at Smith & Wollensky as "No Screaming", and Grill 23 is planning on providing complimentary designer earplugs. This also helps when your other dining comparions are boors.
But thank heavens for Fleming's and their forward thinking.
Huh
I usually shriek when I see the prices.
The prices are shriek worthy
The prices are shriek worthy given what it'd cost to prepare a stake as you like at home. Totally not worth it at most restaurants.
That said - why is it considered wimpy or anorexic to want a < 8 oz portion? I'm a woman, I don't watch my weight, I love doggie bags (just not at the theater - ever take one to the opera or the symphony? Not well-reviewed.). To frame this as anti-feminist is kind of pathetic.
Most restaurants in the US
Most restaurants in the US serve portions that are much too large.
